Historic walk in Bryantsville
Circa 1900—At left is the home of Henry Smith, who operated the general store at right in Bryantsville. The town was originally platted as Paris in 1835, and in 1840 the name was changed to Bryantsville.
Bad Blood in Bryantsville…
Friday, October 30, 6-8 p.m. “Bad Blood in Bryantsville,” the Lawrence County Museum's historic walk exploring the murders of brothers James and Charles Rout in June 1904.
Participants will meet at the Bryantsville Church of Christ for a guided walk to hear about the tragic events surrounding those murders from costumed reenactors.
After the walk, the group will relocate to the Commercial Building at the Lawrence County Fairgrounds for a light supper and a presentation by Believe Paranormal about their investigation into sites relevant to the tragedy.
Tickets are $20 for adults, $15 for seniors over 65, and $10 for students, and may be purchased at the Lawrence County Museum.
